Well, Simon’s birthday is over now and he had a great time!
We had a party for him on the actual Thursday with Bob’s family. A nice evening of having fun and celebrating a little 3yr old.
Then we had a full out party on Saturday with about 25 people (8 kids and a bunch of parents). I had ordered a plate of triangle sandwiches and a plate of cheese cubes. Then I had bought some mini quiches and little hot dogs in puff pastry. What great food!
My Mom (Nana) brought some veggies (I made the dip) and so it was really lots of great food.
The quiches and littel hot dogs were made with puff pastry – they were so good. I really preffer puff pastry to doughier types of crusts. I want to have more. The only problem is you have to watch them really carefully in the over, they burn very easily.
I have yet to master my oven in this house – it seems to heat so much more than the other one, and I have burnt so many nice meals!! Good thing we have a Jen-air fan nearby
Simon had a really great time. Lots of toys, lots of food, lots of friends and lots of Candy (not that he has had much of it!)
My Piniata worked so well. All the little kids tried to break it, and then the bigger kids finished it off! It was the 9yr old that got the final wack in – I have learnt alot about making this piniata and I would probably do it again – it took about 2 weeks to do it right and have it dry properly – It would probably dry faster in winter with the heat on in the house, but what can ya do – the birthday was in Sept!
So that is about it!
Thanks
Cat
Belated Happy Birthday Simon! We had a celebration also for our little guy so now we have three year-olds! It’s happening so quickly!
